Southsea Cinema and Arts Centre is thrilled to announce that Ill Truth, one of the most respected names in Bristol’s Drum & Bass scene, will be headlining our DnB Exclusive Night on Saturday, November 23rd. Marking a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to bringing great talent to Portsmouth.
Ill Truth, a dynamic music production outfit from Bristol, consists of two members whose shared passion for mixing records during their early college days sparked a creative partnership that has flourished into a remarkable journey through the world of electronic music. Since their formation in 2016, Ill Truth has carved out a significant presence in the music scene, captivating audiences both in the UK with their distinctive sound and electrifying DJ performances.
Their impressive portfolio includes contributions to renowned labels such as Sofa Sound Bristol, Overview Music, and Symmetry Recordings. With their extensive range of music, Ill Truth has firmly established themselves among the top players in the Drum & Bass scene.
In 2023, Ill Truth launched their own imprint, Truth Hertz, which is quickly gaining recognition and is anticipated to be a label to watch in 2024 and beyond.
Adding to the excitement, we are pleased to feature Wesley, a seasoned DJ with a deep-rooted passion for broken beat music. Wesley began his DJing journey in 1993, starting in the hardcore scene and evolving into Drum & Bass. Known for blending various Drum & Bass genres, Wesley plays the music he loves with an infectious enthusiasm. As a resident DJ for Beats and Swing, Wesley has opened for icons such as DJ Fresh, LTJ Bukem, and Goldie. His illustrious career includes residencies at major festivals like the Isle of Wight Festival, Boomtown, Bestival, Bearded Man, and Victorious, where he has showcased his dynamic sound to diverse audiences.
