2 Years OLD
Portsmouth Film Society is thrilled to announce the momentous occasion of Southsea Cinema & Arts Centre’s two-year anniversary on Sunday, May 19, 2024. To commemorate this milestone, we’re hosting an electrifying Paella Party and Live Blues Night followed by an exhilarating Extravaganza film quiz.
Reflecting on our journey, Portsmouth Film Society has soared to new heights in its second year of operating the cinema, marking a triumphant shift from years of pop-up events. Despite facing formidable challenges in the creative industry landscape, our team is elated at the remarkable accomplishments of this inaugural year. We extend heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers, supporters, and audiences of Southsea Community Cinema and Art Centre, whose unwavering dedication has been instrumental in our success.
Embracing a culture of continuous improvement, our predominantly volunteer-driven team remains steadfast in enhancing our public offerings and outreach initiatives. Overcoming initial hurdles, including securing grants from esteemed entities such as Southern Coop for the Recovery Festival and the groundbreaking I am Only Human Filmmaking Course, we’ve tirelessly worked to elevate our service, exhibition, and educational programs.
