Mark Kellett
19 February – 30 March 2026
Southsea Cinema & Arts Centre, Portsmouth
Launch Event: Tuesday 24 February, 6–8 PM
Southsea Cinema & Arts Centre presents NEON MIND, a new small-scale exhibition by Portsmouth-based artist Mark Kellett, opening 19 February 2026.
This deeply personal and expressive body of work draws from lived experience, emotional memory, and an evolving experimental practice. Rooted in reflections on mental health, significant life moments, and periods of personal transformation, the exhibition offers an honest and immersive insight into the artist’s internal landscape.
Alongside these reflective works, NEON MIND introduces new experimental pieces that explore fresh textures, processes, and visual directions — revealing an artist actively pushing his practice forward.
At its core, the exhibition reflects Mark Kellett’s ongoing commitment to opening more honest conversations around men’s mental health. Through bold colour, layered abstraction, and expressive mark-making, art becomes a space for dialogue, vulnerability, and shared understanding.
Deeply connected to Portsmouth, Kellett continues to celebrate his relationship with the city by exhibiting locally while carrying its creative identity beyond its borders.
About the Artist
Mark Kellett creates work that treads the boundary between reality and imagination, where organised chaos takes form through vivid geometries, swirling abstractions, and subtle psychedelic influence.
His practice is a collision of pattern and spontaneity — structured compositions charged with emotion and unexpected visual elements. Rooted in lived experiences of mental health, his art becomes both expression and exploration, revealing an ongoing process of reflection and growth.
Music and the world around him remain central inspirations, acting as emotional anchors and creative fuel. Like a favourite song, each piece aims to resonate, spark inner dialogue, invite curiosity, or offer a moment of escape.
His work exists as both a personal language and an open space — where imagination, memory, and emotion converge.
