A summer of creativity and pure entertainment in collaboration with Aled Price Productions and My friendly Planet Art & Design School
We are excited about this summer’s activities at Southsea Community Cinema and Arts Centre with our new endeavour FILM CAMP for young people in collaboration with Aled Price Productions and My Friendly Planet Art & Design School. The Film Camp invites young people aged between 8 years old to 13 years old to take part in a full week of filmmaking programme, which is to include camera,
acting, street dance, ticket design and creative workshops, introduction to film history, daily film screenings and much more.
Newcomers to the Southsea Community Cinema and Arts Centre, the Aled Price Productions, premiere entertainment and production company, are to bring their expertise in the entertainment industry to supporting the young people throughout the Film Camp in gaining and developing performance skills with Portsmouth Film Society volunteers, and with My Friendly Planet Art & Design School to lead the creative workshops.
About Aled Price Productions
Founded 13 years ago, Portsmouth based Aled Price Productions has produced events and supplied entertainment all over the world and recently moved their operation into the Southsea Community Cinema and Arts Centre building. The company prides itself on delivering high quality bespoke entertainment solutions, with budget options to suit all events, from private parties to corporate events. APP focuses on showcasing local professional talent, live music, cabaret, theatre and events for the public including young people. The company is currently planning their upcoming workshops and classes, to include singing, dancing and acting lessons for all ages and experience levels.
To celebrate the move in anticipation, the APP produced “Musicals of the Night”, a cabaret evening featuring famous show tunes with four local professional performers, on July 27th 2023. Tickets are on sale via the Southsea Community Cinema and Arts Centre website.

About Friendly Planet Art & Design School, and Languages
Based in Southsea since 2019, My Friend Planet Art & Design School, and Languages provide workshops, classes and projects for adults, young people and children of all levels. They are a not for profit social enterprise which focus upon creative social engagement experiences to build confidence and to reduce anxiety. They have recently exhibited their Young People’s Art Club and MFP Artists’ Exhibitions in our Art Gallery. Since they have entered into a collaborative creative strategy with us, MFP have run various creative workshops here at the centre, as well as conducting their own art classes and workshops, and Life Drawing Social Club at the art school. Together, we are planning an introduction to the creative industries project that is to engage young people to gain and develop various related skills.
