A New Artistic Journey Begins in Southsea
Southsea Cinema & Arts Centre is delighted to welcome Tiffany Keene for her first exhibition at the venue, Fragmentos de Colores — a captivating collection of collage works exploring colour, pattern, texture and composition through a deeply personal creative perspective.
We are especially pleased to support another first-time exhibition artist, giving Tiffany the opportunity to share a body of work that has grown from a renewed relationship with art after many years devoted to her successful career in floristry.
For Tiffany, this exhibition represents more than a collection of artworks. It is a return to a creative part of herself that had been waiting to be explored again.
From Floristry to Fragments of Colour
Tiffany has lived in Southsea for the past 26 years and has run her own successful florist business on Albert Road for more than 25 years.
Before her floristry career, Tiffany studied Art and Design at Northbrook Art College in Worthing, followed by a further year specialising in textile design. Although her professional life eventually took her into the artistic world of floristry, her passion for visual creativity never disappeared.
Seven years ago, Tiffany adapted her business to focus on weddings, funerals and corporate floristry. This change gave her more time to reconnect with her artistic practice.
What began with a single collage has now developed into a collection of 15 individual works.
Seeing Something Different
Fragmentos de Colores explores the relationship between colour, pattern and composition.
Each collage is deliberately different. Tiffany does not give individual titles to the works because she wants the viewer to bring their own interpretation.
“See what you want to see.”
The invitation is simple: spend time with each piece and allow your own imagination to decide what you discover.
The more closely the works are explored, the more details begin to emerge. Shapes, textures and fragments come together to create compositions that can feel familiar yet remain open to interpretation.
The Joy of Creating
Tiffany describes the process of making the collection as both challenging and deeply rewarding. Some pieces have required her to step away and return days or even weeks later with fresh eyes.
“I’ve enjoyed creating every piece and love the way it makes me use my creative side again. At times it can be very hard to get the piece of art just right, but I have found it so enjoyable and, most of all, relaxing.”
This honesty is at the heart of the collection. The works show the process of experimentation, patience and discovery — allowing the artwork to develop rather than forcing it into a predetermined outcome.
A Personal View of Colour
Through Fragmentos de Colores, Tiffany offers audiences a personal view of the world through fragments — pieces of colour, shape, memory and imagination brought together to create something new.
Her background in floristry and textile design can be felt in her sensitivity to colour, pattern and arrangement, while her return to collage has opened a new chapter in her creative life.
Southsea Cinema & Arts Centre is proud to provide a space for Tiffany to share that journey and to celebrate the courage it takes to begin something new.
We invite visitors to look closely, take their time, and decide for themselves what they see.
